What made you want to be involved in the wedding industry?
I love the feeling of seeing people happy! When I coordinated my first wedding, the overall experience was nothing short of amazing, so I knew this would be an industry that I would fit right in to.
How did you start your business?
If started from the bottom was a person, it’d be me! I started off as an online bridal blog (what a coincidence!) and immediately began trying to learn how to start off as a wedding planner. I had no true experience in the industry yet, so I reached to about 60-70 wedding vendors just for advice or to be able to shadow them. Out of that number, I heard back from 3 of them (Clockwork Events, Elegance Simplified, and Southern Charm Events). After that, Tier & Co. was born!
What has been the most memorable moment for you throughout your journey in the wedding industry?
I would say meeting Dani Nicole Photography and doing a styled shoot with her. First and foremost, she is one of the sweetest and most transparent photographers I’ve ever met! We met for dinner to talk about the shoot and she gave me soooo much advice on where I can take my business and how. Then on the day of the shoot, All of the vendors worked so well together and it just flowed! It really showed me how we really could be a community and not competition. We ended up getting featured in some major bridal magazines, and my business really took a shift, in a good way!
If you could re-launch your business, is there anything else you would do differently?
I definitely would not have changed how I started. The struggle taught me so much that I needed to know, but I would probably change my marketing tactics. Now that I have been doing this for almost 4 years, I know what style of weddings bring me true joy and really motivate me. That’s the only thing I would change!
